Wonderoud by Comme des Garéons
Wonderod is a fragrance built around an ingredient, oud, but the result is wonderfully complex. This aroma features oud, the resin produced by agar wood, but completes its woody notes with Texas cedar wood, Australian sandalwood and guava wood. Other notes of the forest include vetiver and patchouli that give the upper notes of the wood some roots and the earthy aromas that accompany them. The sweetness of the wood hints at a pink floral note without giving way to a whole bouquet.
Comme des Garéons is the remarkable Japanese fashion brand started by Rei Kawakubo. The brand was first known for its punk clothing and worn style. When it branched into fragrances in 1994, it continued in this tradition creating unconventional aromas. Wonderoud was created by Antoine Maisondieu and released in 2014. The fragrance has enough longevity to spend the day, and its wake will catch the attention of those who are close to the user without overwhelming them.
