LANCASTER

Founded in 1946, Lancaster is an industry leader in international luxury cosmetics and the solar care market. Lancaster House produces makeup, skin care and sun protection products, and has a prominent presence in more than 40 countries. The company was started by George Wurz, an industrialist, and Dr. Eugene Frezatti, a chemical specializing in cosmetics. Together, they founded the Lancaster factory in Monaco, where they produced the exclusive products Cr. Embryonnaire, Serum Tissulaire and le Lait pour les Mains, which resulted in the company's success in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Lancaster became the only supplier of beauty products for Princess Grace of Monaco and developed an anti-aging line called Ligne Princiere. In the early 1970s, the company launched its solar protection line with the addition of self-tanners, sunand and anti-solar protection, as well as makeup for the sun. Lancaster pioneered skin care with the ingredient Retinol, and was the first to incorporate it into its product line.

In 1993, Lancaster began using oxygen in his products, in a therapy called vital oxygen supply. It patented RPF 2002, a technology designed to combat the aging and harmful effects of free radicals.

Lancaster began making fragrances in 1977, working in collaboration with perfumers Emilie (Bevierre) Coppermann and Francis Kurkdjian. In 1997, she launched Sunwater, a feminine scent that combines green flowers and apples with woody tones. In 2013, Lancaster introduced Summer Splash, a light combination of citrus, flowers and musk. As of 2016, the company has six fragrances.
