INSPIRATION
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel commissioned Ernest Beaux to create "a women's perfume that smells like a woman," extraordinary and powerful. His nose proposed a visionary composition that appealed to an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle selected version 5 of the fragrance, deciding to keep this simple number as its name. In 2008, Jacques Polge, Chanel's nose since 1978, reinterpreted his predecessor's olfactory score to create a luminous version of N°5: EAU PREMIÈRE.
